    New old U boot!

    Well besides coming back from the subregatta with lot's of fun times I came back with a kit I have been wanting for many years.
    I first saw information on it at the Toledo show back in 1984.
    I did not think they were ever imported into this country, and this one may have been special ordered.
    It was made by Schaffer in Germany and was a 1/40 scale Type VIIc.
    I still have the catalog I picked up at Toledo in 1984 and scanned photos of the model.
    The thing I liked is all of the hull detail is molded into the hull including the dishing.
    If anyone has the German book (Vom Original zum modell Uboottyp VIIc) it is the model featured in the back of the book. I will post more info on the model later.
    I needed another kit like I need a hole in my head but I could not pass it up.
    It is not complete but enought is there to build the model with no problem.
