I went to see Bill today and he was sitting up in a chair doing arm and leg lifts. But more to the point, when I glanced down at his urine bag, it was full! I asked his nurse, who said that early this morning they changed his catheter, and all of a sudden, “The floodgates opened!†1700 ccs came all at once, and it hasn’t stopped since. It’s the right color, too. So his kidney failure has resolved itself.
Now the next thing is to get his tracheostomy fixed so that he can eat solid food—he has to be able to swallow well. Then it will be all about re-building his strength. I still don’t know when he’ll be home, because he has to go to rehab for a while. But all’s going well—he’s in good spirits and looks very good. The PT wore him out today, though—he went back to bed and fell asleep instantly.
Your prayers, good thoughts, e-mails, cards, and letters have meant so much. It won’t be long before Bill will be answering your e-mails himself.
Lots of love,
Pam
Received this email today on Bill's progress, all is looking
great, about another month and Bill should be back home
trying to work on his sub.
I am hoping to have his brass etched deck done by then.
