Bill Marks setback - Bill Marks setback

Bill came off the ventilator on Tuesday, but last night he had a slight setback. He has had so much muscle wastage from being flat on his back for two weeks that his chest muscles were becoming fatigued from trying to breathe. So he is back on the ventilator until they can give him a temporary tracheostomy, which will allow him to gradually build up the strength in his chest. He is going to need a great deal of physical therapy and will probably be in rehab for a month or so after he gets out of the hospital. He’s still in ICU and will remain there as long as he has any kind of breathing assistance.

He just hates all of this, but so far is maintaining his sense of humor [although sometimes it wears a bit thin].

Thanks once more for your prayers and good thoughts—and please keep ‘em coming! He has a long way to go.

    Lots of love,

    Pam

I expected better news than this. Bill and I have been
working together on our subs for a couple of years now,
working out ballasting, electrical and other problems.
Our recent venture, designing and etching a brass deck
for our Fleet Subs, his sub a 1/48 scale and my sub a
scratch built 1/57 scale. It looks like I will have both decks
etched before he gets out of the hospital.
Please keep him in your prayers.......
