I was at a used bookshop the other day and i saw an old publication of National Geographic. In it was a picture of an experimental model submarine undergoing test at a US Navy test facility. The unique feature of the model was that it sported 2 propellers, one in the stern and one around the circumference of the bow ( similar to the set-up on this model

It noted that the dual drive offered superb maneuvering. Wonder why it was never put into actual use?
