2 dates in April for running boats!!!!!!!

    Folks,

As last year, we have a great opportunity next month to both help out the York YMCA and to promote the model ship / submarine hobby. .

The YMCA's Graham Aquatic Center in York is hosting their "Healthy Kids Day" on Saturday, April 17 from 11:00 until 3:00. The aquatic director in Shrewsbury has asked if we would display and run boats again this year. We'll have the use of the 25 meter indoor pool. Those of you who came out last year will recall that we had a large group of VERY enthusiastic kids there watching and running the boats. A good time was had by everyone!

Please consider coming if at all possible. Even if you don't actually run your boat / ship, it will provide wonderful exposure to the hobby in general and the local clubs for the community and the media. We all lament regularly how the hobby is shrinking, here's your chance to make a difference. Show up, and show off! Let me know if you're coming.

    The location:
    Graham Aquatic Center
    542 North Newberry Street
    York, PA 17401

From I-83 exit 21 (US Rt 30, Arsenal Rd)
Take US 30 (Arsenal Rd) west
In 1 mile, turn left onto Pennsylvania Ave
In .9 miles, turn left onto Parkway Blvd
in 500 ft, turn right onto Newberry St.
The center is on the left, just past the church.

There is an unloading area and handicapped parking in front of the center. This was blocked off pretty early last year, but you should be able to get in to unload. After you have unloaded, there is a parking lot on the other side of the church, with a walkway and bridge over the stream to the center.

Please note that we WILL still have our usual monthly fun run at the Y in Shrewsbury on the Sunday prior, April 11at our usual time, 1000 - 1300

Hope we'll see you there!! Again, RSVP if at all possible. Thanks!
